Mission Statement

Our Mission

The Lakeshore Community Action Program (CAP) promotes self-sufficiency and well-being with individuals and families through results-based programs, services and partnerships delivered by an understanding staff with resources to provide appropriate solutions.

Our Vision

We are a known leader and integral partner in creating stable, vibrant communities where people have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Helping People, Changing Lives is more than just a motto. We offer services to assist people in need and develop programming to help people learn the skills that will prevent the need from arising. Basic needs assistance and preventative programming are what we strive to deliver — not just to our clients, but to our community.
— Colleen Homb, Interim CEO

What We're Achieving

  • Lakeshore Community Action Program works to achieve self-sufficiency in all residents of the counties of Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc and Sheboygan. Our programs educate families, protect youth, secure shelter, deliver skills training and provide food for the needy throughout northeastern Wisconsin.

  • We believe that everyone wants the best for themselves and for their families. We believe the community wants compassionate assistance for the less fortunate. We believe that assistance for individuals and families in need can yield benefits for the community by establishing and promoting a caring environment where everyone is assured of support.

  • Support is not restricted. Anyone starting a family can benefit from our parent education programs. Individuals and families can benefit from our homelessness prevention, housing education and home buyer programs. Those seeking better employment can benefit from our education and skills enhancement programs. With our community partners, we strive to serve the needs of a healthy, vibrant community.
